The London IBD clinic is a nurse-led clinic that consists of a team of highly qualified Advanced nurse practitioners from around the UK who are exceptionally skilled and recognised globally for their expertise and knowledge in Crohns Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. We have close links with expert, world-renowned Gastroenterologists and can offer onward referral where needed.

Having worked as an Advanced practice Inflammatory Bowel Disease Nurse Practitioner at teaching hospitals in the NHS for over 15 years, Kay founded the London IBD clinic in 2022. She is recognised globally for her work and achievements in Crohns Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
A speaker at national and international events, Kay has published work in numerous journals and co-authored chapters in several books including ‘IBD Nursing’ and ‘Curbside Consultation in IBD’.
Kay was Chair of the Nurses section of European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation in 2018 and has been involved in co-authoring the 2019 European consensus statement on the role of the IBD nurse specialist.
Her passion for IBD led to her founding the IBD Passport Charity in 2014, for which she has since won numerous prestigious medical and nursing awards for its development and success.

Pearl Avery is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and has had an interest in Gastroenterology since qualifying in 2005. Working in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) for 8 years as the Lead IBD Nurse at Dorset County Hospital progressing to Nurse consultant in the final year of employment. Pearl is passionate about improving patient experience and outcomes and has an interest in digital health believing this can assist in this improvement in patient outcomes. This led to a British Journal of Nursing award in 2018 for Gastro/IBD Nurse of the year, a successful application to the HEE/NIHR bridging award and NHS Clinical Entrepreneur programme and a secondment to the IBD registry in 2020. Pearl was a patient safety practitioner for one year providing a systemwide view of health service safety priorities and since 2021 has been an IBD Advanced Nurse Practitioner at a large university hospital and IBD specialist centre in London now incorporating Nurse research. Pearl also works one day weekly at in a local primary care medical center as an ANP specialist interest in gastroenterology this role has developed a broader healthcare experience supporting Pearls holistic approach to IBD Nursing. Pearl is undertaking a PhD and is the Nurse representative for the British Society of Gastroenterology IBD section clinical research group.

Lisa has over 20 years’ experience working as an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) nurse specialist and was responsible for the development of IBD nursing services at The Whittington Hospital NHS Trust, St Mark’s Hospital/LNWH NHS Trust and most recently The Royal London Hospital, Barts Health.
She has written for a number of nursing, medical and patient facing publications about the management of IBD and the importance of working with people with IBD to provide holistic and realistic care, and has contributed in a number of collaborative publications looking at the provision of IBD care both nationally and internationally, including the 2019 British Society of Gastroenterology IBD guidelines and European standards of care. She currently represents the Royal College of Nursing on the IBDUK board, who have recently updated UK IBD Standards of Care.
She is a passionate patient advocate and believes in the role of a multidisciplinary approach to care delivery, working closely with medical, surgical, dietetic, pharmacy and psychology colleagues to develop and deliver care which meets the needs of the individual, aiming to minimise the symptoms and impact of living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

Graeme is a Specialist Gastroenterology Dietitian who lives and works in London having trained in Edinburgh. Graeme is a highly experienced dietitian working with patients with gastrointestinal issues. He is an expert in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Functional gastrointestinal disorders including Irritable Bowel Syndrome and dyspepsia as well as coeliac and liver disease. He is well-trained to treat patients with complex dietetic needs and an integral part of the multidisciplinary team. Graeme's dietetic expertise is essential in delivering holistic, tailored, and patients centered gastrointestinal care.
