Patients who travel to see us
We see patients from across the UK and from overseas, including the Gulf, Europe and the United States, many of whom return to us each time they are in London.
"Kay and her team recently helped a relative of mine who was traveling abroad from the United States and needed treatment for a chronic condition. Everyone was wonderful and Kay answered every question promptly and made us feel as though we were in the best hands possible. I would give them 10 stars if I could."
Questions from international patients
Can I be seen before I travel to London?
Yes. Most international patients start with a video consultation before they fly. We review your history, agree what you need and have tests or treatment ready for the week you arrive. A first appointment is £250 for 45 minutes, and you leave with a written care plan.
Can you give my biologic infusion while I am in London?
Yes. We give all current brands of biologic, by infusion or injection, following the prescription and protocol from your own gastroenterologist, after a clinical review. Infusions start from £1,750 plus the cost of the medicine, and injections start from £250 including the medicine.
Do you accept international health insurance?
We are a self-pay clinic, so treatment is paid for in advance and you can reclaim from your insurer if your policy covers it. Some international policies may cover your care directly, depending on the insurer and the policy, so we check each case individually before you book.
What should I send before I travel?
Contact us before you fly and we will tell you exactly what we need. That usually includes your treatment plan, your medicine and dose, recent blood results, infection screening and details of previous doses. We confirm your treatment and the full price before anything is booked.
Will my doctors at home be kept informed?
Yes. We send a written summary and your results in English to your doctors at home, so your care continues without a gap when you return. Many international patients come back to us each time they are in London, and we keep your records on file between visits.
Can I bring an interpreter or a family member?
You are welcome to bring an interpreter or a family member to your consultation, whether you are seen in clinic at 19 Wimpole Street or by video.
